Homeschool Rally Junior Edition: Music, Masterpieces and Matisse

Event Type: Books/Literature
Age Group(s): School Age (5-11), Preteen (10-11)
Date: 11/7/2018
Start Time: 11:00 AM
End Time: 1:00 PM
Homeschooled children ages 5-11 will explore STEAM activities. This month, school aged kids and tweens will read books, play games and do activities themed around Henri Matisse and musical instruments. From 11:00-11:45, based on the Bedtime Math’s Crazy 8s Club lesson, discover the math in music by making your own music with wacky instruments. Then use your hands and feet to create a musical medley that makes a cool beat when put together as a group! From 11:45-12:00, join Miss Rene for a guided Art Tour of the ImaginOn building, and learn facts about the framed artwork throughout our building that was created by famous children’s book illustrators. Then, from 12:00-1:00, we will read Henri’s Scissors, and then you will have a chance to use your artistic flare to create a cut artwork masterpiece in the style of Henri Matisse. These back-to-back programs will not have a scheduled break, but you are welcome to join us for just one program or stay for it all. This year we are requiring registration and capping at 50, so sign up now!
