Homeschool Rally Junior Edition: The Power of Poetry and Colorful Chemistry

Event Type: Books/Literature
Age Group(s): School Age (5-11), Preteen (10-11)
Date: 4/3/2019
Start Time: 11:00 AM
End Time: 1:00 PM
Homeschooled children ages 5-11 will explore STEAM activities. This month, school aged kids and tweens will read books, play games and do activities themed around poetry-in honor of National Poetry Month-and colorful chemistry! From 11:00-12:00 we will host a Poetry Slam. Roses are red, your poems are too. If we show you how they’re written, could you read us a few? Discover several different forms of poetry and learn to create your own to share with us. And then, science time! What do purple cabbage juice, magic markers and your spice cabinet all have in common? Colors and chemistry! Join us from 12:00-1:00 to explore acid-base indicators, chromatography, and more in this hands-on science program. These back-to-back programs will have a (very) slight break in between, so please feel free to bring a snack; you are welcome to join us for just one program or stay for both. This year we are requiring registration and capping at 50, so sign up now!
