Flying on an airplane is the safest form of travel. In this program, we’ll explore the story behind the Carolinas Aviation Museum’s star exhibit, the Miracle on the Hudson, Flight 1549, and how safety played a part in Captain “Sully” Sullenberger’s successful water landing of the plane on the Hudson River. We’ll hear a special presentation from Beth McHugh, a passenger on flight 1549, and participate in a mock rescue challenge! Little Aviators is sponsored by Culture Blocks - a community partnership between ASC, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation to bring arts and cultural experiences closer to Charlotte residents.
