 This is a free 2-hour class which is lecture/demonstration driven…there are no scenarios, role playing, or practical exercises. The purpose of the presentation is to educate civilians with lifesaving skills to prevent the loss of lives during any dangerous, violent situation. The topics covered during the presentation include:
- Lessons learned from previous active shooter events (to include events in Charlotte)
- Understanding law enforcement’s response (with specific CMPD statistics and response plans)
- Basic first aid in a trauma situation
- Signs of potential workplace violence
- Human response to stress
- The ABC’s to Active Shooter Response
